Root-kit virus - The harassing virus

Most of the people who are using the computer wonders, why the hell people are interested in hacking others computer, and what they do by doing so. The main aim of the hacker is to watch the user screen, still the important data’s and modifies them and many more and out of such virus one of them is root-kits virus. A root-kits is kind of a virus or malicious software, which gets itself activated every time your computer gets restarted or rebooted. They are very difficult to detect because they get started before your operating system get rebooted completely. it is a software programmed designed in such a way that it comprises of one or more programs in order or gain the access of the computer with out any knowledge of the computer user or owner.

If we try to understand the term root-kits than we can divide the word into two parts “roots” mean “administrative access” and “kit” means ”programs or mechanism that performs task” Root-kits has been found in most of the operating system i.e.: windows, Mac, Linux and Solaris. Once the root-kits has been successfully installed it’s said to be “rooted” on computer. And the worst thing about it is normally we cannot detect the root-kits virus easily with the help of the antivirus, so its really difficult to made an ideology that the computer is infected by the root-kits  so for these you should have an idea about, what are the symptom’s of this kind of spyware or virus.

Some of the symptoms that are seen due to the infection of the root-kits virus are as follow:

1.    If you already have virus removal programs and under the running status and its still getting too much of spyware and viruses means your computer do have root-kits.

2.    The antivirus that you have got is not working up to the mark and its not functioning and your antivirus is missing altogether, which will slowly and gradually kill your antivirus.

3.     The user is connected with the internet, but he is not able to use the internet, as the virus activates the proxy and enables the use for the computer to use the internet.

4.    Your computer desktop background is disabled or wallpaper changes into a black screen every time you restart your computer.

5.    The computer of your would be working very slow, although you wouldn't be doing any thing major.

So we can easily assume that the root-kits is a strong and powerful spyware. Since this type of virus is installed by the hacker to the root level some precautionary measures by preventing the hacker from the getting into the roots, like

 · Applying security patches

 · closing unused ports.
